Large Primitive Hammered Copper Urn – Double Handle Decorative Vessel/Floor Jug

This large hammered copper jug is a nice piece with double handles and a generously rounded body. Standing approximately 20″ tall, the rich patina and surface wear reflect its age and history. The opening features a scalloped, irregular rim, and the hammered body has an interlocking pattern commonly found in traditional Middle Eastern and North African copperwork from the 1800s.

The exact origin is unknown. Some similar pieces are listed as Turkish, others as North African — these were often used in the 19th century for practical purposes such as storing water, rice, oil, or other household materials.

Perfect as a floor-standing urn, display vessel, or centerpiece in a foyer, living room, gallery, or collection of antique metalwork.
